I have for sale a 1972 Volkswagen Campmobile. I have owned it for roughly 1 year (it was purchased last July here in MN). The van is a 4 speed manual transmission and drives well. I am unsure of the mileage - it's tough to say with these older vehicles. I haven’t taken it on any long trips, but it’s been driven around town and it made a few hour long drives without any problems. It has been stored inside my garage since I’ve owned it (1 year). I hate to see this vehicle go, but it doesn’t get enough use and I just had a child and no longer have much free time. I’ve also had a tough time learning to drive the manual transmission :( This van would make for a perfect vehicle to take camping or to music festivals or just to cruise around town! I have done some work on the interior since I purchased the van. I re-upholstered the rear seats and I also put in a ‘fake wood’ floor in the back. The pop-up top canvas has a few small tears and holes that I’ve tried to patch up. I also have many receipts and documentation from the previous owner detailing mechanical work that was done on the vehicle (several thousands of dollars over the years). The van also includes the following: ice box, screen for back window, ‘child hammock’, CD player and speakers (not currently installed). The following are the only bad ‘features’ of the van that I am aware of: rust around wheels and driver side floor, , sliding door track is pretty rusted and you have to be careful when opening the door (it falls off the hinge easily). I was told that this could be repaired by somebody with welding experience. Also, the interior handle for the sliding door is missing (I've seen these online for roughly $10). Overall the van seems to be in as good of shape possible for a 36 year old vehicle!
